Green Hydrogen Systems, Eurowind Energy, and Lhyfe have signed a master supply agreement for electrolysis capacity of up to 24 MW. The three parties grant mutual exclusivity to one another through this agreement.

GreenLab Skive’s large-scale generation and storage of green hydrogen from solar and wind energy will be utilized to create green methanol for use in the transportation industry, and will also be used directly as a green, zero-emission fuel for heavy transport.

The three parties agree to mutual exclusivity for the building of a green hydrogen production facility with a maximum electrolysis capacity of 24 MW under the terms of this master supply agreement. GreenLab Skive’s large-scale synthesis and storage of green hydrogen from solar and wind energy will be utilized to create green methanol for use in the transportation sector, as well as directly as a green, zero-emission fuel for heavy transport. The project’s purpose is to pave the way for large-scale Power-to-X initiatives that have the potential to speed Europe’s transition to carbon neutrality by 2050.

The electrolyser plant’s first phase will have a capacity of roughly 12 MW and is scheduled to be installed by the end of 2022. Green Hydrogen Systems will manage the plant’s operations for the first 24 months. Following that, Eurowind Energy and Lhyfe will take over the operation.

“We believe that Power-to-X will be a crucial part of our future energy system. This world’s first large-scale combined green hydrogen and green methanol plant is a major opportunity to demonstrate our technology. This project will be a cornerstone for us in achieving the necessary scale for technological advancement and will contribute to lowering the levelised cost of hydrogen towards cost parity with fossil fuels.”

Sebastian Koks Andreassen, CEO of Green Hydrogen Systems.

“The agreement is proof of our commitment to the development of the hydrogen industry in Denmark and the rest of Europe. There is still plenty of work to do however this is a significant milestone for the project and we are proud of the progress we have made so far. We have come to appreciate the dedication and professionalism of Green Hydrogen Systems and we look forward to the cooperation in the years to come.”

Jens Rasmussen, CEO of Eurowind Energy.

“The project is a large-scale project and will be a crucial demonstration on how efficient green hydrogen production is feasible already today. Lhyfe is glad to share our know-how and join Eurowind Energy and Green Hydrogen Systems in this world-class project.”
