GreenZo Energy and API Power, a renewable energy firm located in Nepal, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to develop 50-MW green hydrogen plants in Nepal over the next three years.
The MOU stipulates that API Power will invest Rs 10 billion in 50 MW green hydrogen facilities that can produce 4,000 MT of hydrogen annually. Existing hydro and solar projects, including Bardeghat, Chanauta, Kawasoti, Dhalkebar, Parwanipur, Simara, and Chandranigapur, are recommended for the hydrogen initiative.
As agreed upon by both firms, the one megawatt (MW) pilot hydro project will proceed at the Naugarh Gad Hydroelectric Project (8.5 MW). The MOU will remain in place until 2025, when the proposed projects will be finished.
ACME Group launched a green hydrogen and green ammonia project in the state of Tamil Nadu in July 2022. During the Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave, the initial agreement with the state government was inked in the presence of the honorable chief minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru M K Stalin. The project will require an investment of Rs 524,740,000,000. Also in the same month, NHPC signed two memorandums of understanding for the development of “pilot green hydrogen technologies” in the Ladakh districts of Leh and Kargil.
