At the Oil Research and Development Center of the Ministry of Oil, the nation’s first hydrogen generation and compression unit have been activated.
The research unit has a 99.5 percent pure hydrogen production rate and a 150 bar compression rate.
According to a statement from the Ministry, this is enough to cover the research departments’ demands, with the extra supplies being used by private businesses and public organizations.
Abdul Baqi Khalaf, the energy affairs advisor for the Ministry, declared at the event that Iraq is dedicated to upholding its pledges to reduce gas emissions and other pollutants, as well as to safeguard the environment and the climate.
