The ambitious European Hydrogen Backbone (EHB) has been updated to reflect the increasing vitality and rapidity of developments in the hydrogen sector.
The current liquified natural gas (LNG) terminal in Gijón will, according to EHB’s forecasts, become integrated into a more tightly knit hydrogen transmission network across the north of Spain by the year 2030.
Belgium’s 2040 plan has been updated to reflect the “more rapid” deployment of pipeline infrastructure. As an added bonus, EHB has revealed in Slovakia that the timeline for building the East-West corridor between Ukraine and the Czech Republic has been moved forward from 2040 to 2050.
The date of interconnection between Hungary and Slovakia has been brought forward from 2040 to 2030, while that with Austria has been put back to 2040.
In January, the EHB said they will be adding six more participants to the program throughout the year.
