In addition to signing an LOI to possibly supply and install 10 additional hydrogen refueling stations over the following 12 to 24 months, HRS has obtained a definitive order from Plug Power Inc. for 4 specific hydrogen stations for European deployments.
With more than 60,000 running units and more than one billion operating hours, Plug is the first business in the world to establish a commercial fuel cell industry. In the past two years, Plug Power has dramatically increased its presence in Europe, deploying many new customer locations in the material handling industry. With its ambitious development objectives, Plug expects to commission more sites in the upcoming year than it has in the previous seven.
Forklift fleets outfitted with Plug’s fuel cell solution may now receive hydrogen at a dedicated fuelling station constructed by HRS to support and propel Plug’s commercial deployment. When combined with Plug’s GenDrive fuel cell solution, the HRS solution can help large distribution centers increase productivity, get rid of cramped lead-acid battery rooms, and significantly reduce their carbon footprint. The HRS solution can be integrated into Plug’s global hydrogen offering for mobility applications, from production to use in hydrogen-fueled vehicles.
The HRS stations will work with Plug’s hydrogen distribution solutions, which can handle any sort of hydrogen, and are intended for charging light logistical vehicles and forklifts. The first stations are anticipated to be operational in 2023 as a result of HRS’s demonstrated manufacturing capacity and effective industrial organization.
In addition to establishing HRS as a reference supplier, this order for 4 stations and the 10 additional stations outlined in the LOI set the door for future cooperative projects to satisfy Plug’s sizable hydrogen station demands.
