A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by PT Tripatra Engineering (TRIPATRA), one of Indonesia’s top engineering-based solutions providers, and PT HDF Energy Indonesia, the country’s first hydrogen power plant developer.
This Memorandum of Understanding aims to collaborate on the creation of HyPower facilities that convert hydrogen into electricity, assisting Indonesia’s chemical manufacturing sector in its decarbonization.
In order to examine these new market opportunities and work together to implement HyPower plants in the nation, PT HDF Energy Indonesia and TRIPATRA have teamed up. PT HDF Energy Indonesia is an expert and developer of hydrogen power plants, and TRIPATRA has extensive experience as an engineering company in the energy and petrochemical sectors. Multi-megawatt power plants, HDF’s Hypower hydrogen-to-power plants produce competitively priced green electricity on demand from decarbonized hydrogen obtained from commercial enterprises that waste unvalued hydrogen.
High-powered fuel cells made by HDF are part of HDF’s intention to build multi-megawatt hydrogen power plants in Indonesia, which is consistent with TRIPATRA’s objective to hasten the development of projects in the downstream green energy and hydrogen applications sectors. This will help the nation reach its goal of net zero emissions, opening the door for additional hydrogen infrastructure initiatives in the future.
With the signing of this MoU, HDF Energy’s strategic position in Indonesia is strengthened. As a reminder, the Company entered into a cooperation with the Research and Testing Center of the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in October 2022 to work together on hydrogen research to support the construction of Renewable hydrogen power plants. As part of a strategic partnership involving 13 initiatives between the United States and Indonesia to address the climate crisis and advance access to affordable food and energy, DFC (US International Development Finance Corporation) also announced technical assistance to HDF one month later on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Indonesia.
