HyGear, a hydrogen technology company in Arnhem, and Rijngas from Dinxperlo have recently signed a cooperation contract to increase hydrogen production and distribution.
HyGear builds and supplies hydrogen technology worldwide and also produces (green) hydrogen in Arnhem. Rijngas sells hydrogen and in this collaboration purchases the green certified hydrogen produced from HyGear.
HyGear will expand the fill site in Arnhem to meet the rapidly increasing demand. With the acquisition of HyGear’s hydrogen tube trailers by Rijngas, Rijngas is now also able to supply even larger volumes, or make them available for storage or testing. Bundles, tube or bottle trailers can also be filled for third parties in Arnhem.
HyGear uses a variety of technologies to produce green hydrogen, including steam methane reforming, electrolysis, and thermochemical water splitting. Rijngas uses a variety of technologies to distribute hydrogen, including trucks, trailers, and pipelines.
The HyGear and Rijngas cooperation could have a significant impact on the development of the hydrogen economy. The increased production and distribution of green hydrogen could help to reduce emissions from industry and transportation.
