Haffner Energy has secured the initial financing for its groundbreaking project to establish a large-capacity plant in Saint-Dizier, France.

The renewable energy company, specializing in biomass energy recovery, aims to manufacture and assemble renewable gas and hydrogen production modules at this facility. The strategic financing, supported by the French State through the France 2030 program, signifies a major step forward for Haffner Energy’s commitment to sustainable industrial reconquest and territorial development.

Haffner Energy, boasting over 30 years of experience in the energy transition, is aligning its goals with the French government’s “Territoires d’industrie” program. By strategically choosing Saint-Dizier for its gigafactory project named “FactorHy,” the company aims to contribute significantly to industrial reconquest and territorial development. The project was submitted as part of the France 2030 “Première Usine” call for projects, and its selection marks a pivotal milestone for Haffner Energy.

With a strong focus on biomass energy recovery, Haffner Energy designs and supplies cutting-edge decarbonization solutions for mobility, industry, and local authorities. The gigafactory in Saint-Dizier will play a crucial role in bringing the company’s technology to an industrial scale, reinforcing its position as a leader in alternative hydrogen production.

The success of Haffner Energy’s gigafactory project, named “FactorHy,” under the France 2030 program, highlights the pivotal role of public support in advancing green initiatives. Bruno Bonnell, General Secretary for Investment in charge of France 2030, emphasizes the significance of Haffner Energy’s contributions to decarbonizing the economy. The company will receive €5.9 million in grants and repayable advances, a testament to the government’s confidence in its innovative approach.

In addition to the gigafactory project, Haffner Energy is establishing a test and training center in Marolles, near its head office in Vitry-le-François. This center will serve as a hub for research and development, with a new-generation demonstrator for testing various biomass types. The long-term vision includes creating a dedicated space for training Haffner Energy’s customers and employees.

Haffner Energy’s technology, centered around the thermolysis process, is not just a global solution for decarbonization but also a catalyst for positive local initiatives. By valorizing various biomass residues, the company contributes to local economic growth and employment. Active participation in projects like Chârl’Hy and NedE’Hy further solidifies Haffner Energy’s commitment to green reindustrialization, fostering positive synergies with local partners.
