Wolftank Group, a stalwart in energy and environmental technologies, has secured a significant contract to spearhead the planning and construction of a cutting-edge hydrogen refueling station in Bolzano.

The €5.1 million project, a collaborative effort with Gemmo SpA, solidifies Wolftank’s commitment to advancing sustainable mobility infrastructure.

The primary objective of this endeavor is to cater to the hydrogen buses operated by Südtiroler Verkehrs AG (SASA), addressing the escalating demand for emission-free transport solutions. Bolzano’s new hydrogen filling station stands as a testament to Wolftank’s dedication to pioneering forward-looking technologies for the decarbonization of transportation. The facility, designed to complement the existing station established by Wolftank in 2021, will feature state-of-the-art infrastructure capable of fueling SASA’s hydrogen-powered buses at 350 bar pressure. Notably, the station will also integrate a 700-bar refueling system, catering to cars and contemporary hydrogen-powered trucks.

The project aligns seamlessly with SASA’s ambitious plans to modernize its entire fleet by 2030, emphasizing a transition to zero-emission or low-emission buses. The expansion of the hydrogen filling station is a strategic move to accommodate the anticipated addition of new hydrogen buses to SASA’s fleet. In doing so, Wolftank is not merely constructing infrastructure; it is contributing significantly to SASA’s overarching vision for a sustainable and eco-friendly public transport system.

As Europe navigates the challenges outlined in the European Green Deal, hydrogen emerges as a linchpin in the broader goal of global decarbonization. With over 35 years of experience in refueling technologies, Wolftank is well-positioned to contribute significantly to reducing fleet emissions and promoting zero-emission mobility.

In concluding remarks, Peter Werth, CEO of Wolftank Group, emphasizes the driving force behind projects like the Bolzano hydrogen filling station. These endeavors not only establish the necessary infrastructure for a clean future but also underscore Wolftank’s pivotal role in shaping the landscape of green mobility.
