Lhyfe and SAF+ International Group have joined forces to develop the production of electro Sustainable Aviation Fuel (e-SAF) from renewable hydrogen.

The primary goal of the partnership between Lhyfe and SAF+ is to establish a production facility for e-SAF by leveraging renewable hydrogen. By harnessing the power of green hydrogen, derived from renewable sources, the companies aim to create a sustainable alternative to traditional aviation fuel. Their target of a market launch by 2030 aligns with industry expectations and ambitious zero-emission targets set for 2050, demonstrating a commitment to driving environmental sustainability in aviation.

The production of e-SAF from renewable hydrogen involves advanced electrolysis technology, which splits water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen using renewable energy sources. Lhyfe plans to build a green hydrogen production site with a capacity exceeding 100 tonnes per day, utilizing over 300 MW of installed electrolysis capacity. This green hydrogen will then be used to produce e-SAF at a dedicated production site, leveraging innovative processes to ensure high-quality, sustainable fuel for the aviation industry.

The collaboration between Lhyfe and SAF+ holds immense potential to transform the aviation industry and significantly reduce its carbon footprint. By producing e-SAF from renewable hydrogen, the partners aim to offer airlines a sustainable alternative to conventional aviation fuel, thereby lowering greenhouse gas emissions and contributing to global efforts to combat climate change. The successful implementation of this initiative could pave the way for widespread adoption of e-SAF and accelerate the transition towards a greener aviation sector.

As Lhyfe and SAF+ embark on this collaborative journey to develop e-SAF from renewable hydrogen, they are poised to play a leading role in shaping the future of sustainable aviation. By leveraging their expertise and resources, the partners aim to revolutionize the aviation industry and set new standards for environmental sustainability. As the project progresses, it has the potential to drive positive change, reduce carbon emissions, and pave the way for a more sustainable aviation ecosystem.
