Gasunie and Storag Etzel, in collaboration with Patrizia, have unveiled plans to develop hydrogen storage caverns within the Etzel salt dome in Lower Saxony, Germany.
This announcement, made at the E-world energy conference in Essen, marks a significant milestone in the quest for large-scale hydrogen storage infrastructure. The proposed multi-cavity storage facility aims to have a capacity of up to 1 TWh of hydrogen, underscoring the pivotal role hydrogen is poised to play in the future energy landscape.
