Tanaka to increase production plant hydrogen energy consumption with new system

At one of its Tanaka Precious Metals manufacturing facilities, Tanaka Holdings Company, Ltd. has declared that it will be concentrating on hydrogen energy by erecting a pure H2 fuel cell system with a 500-kilowatt maximum generating capacity.

Located in Kanagawa Prefecture, the Shonan Plant is a major recycling industrial facility that uses innovative fuel cells to produce hydrogen energy. Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation’s H2Rex system is the one being implemented. Reaching as close to ideal generating efficiency as feasible is the aim of its application. In 2026, the fuel cell is anticipated to start operating.

Snam chooses Baker Hughes’ hydrogen-ready tec

For a new gas compressor station in Sulmona, Italy, Snam has granted U.S. energy technology company Baker Hughes a contract to supply three turbocompressors powered by NovaLT12 gas turbine technology, which offers fuel flexibility of up to 10% hydrogen blend with natural gas.

Baker Hughes claims that this station is an essential component of the Adriatic Line, a Snam pipeline project that involves building a 425-kilometer pipeline that is ready for hydrogen transport from Azerbaijan, Africa, and the Eastern Mediterranean region to northern Europe.

Nextchem Tech and Vallourec partner on hydrogen storage technology

Nextchem Tech and Vallourec will integrate Vallourec’s Delphy hydrogen storage technology with Nextchem’s patented green ammonia marketing technology. With Nextchem as a global technology supplier, the two partners will research how to use Delphy storage in “Power-to-X” and green hydrogen projects.

Nextchem’s green ammonia production and high-capacity hydrogen storage will be synergized under the agreement. Nextchem’s green ammonia technology uses renewable energy to make carbon-free ammonia.

Bradford approves hydrogen generating facility

Bradford council approved plans for a big hydrogen generating facility.

Hygen and N-Gen will convert Birkshall gas storage into a low-carbon hydrogen plant to decarbonize vehicles and industry. After opening, the Bowling Back Lane facility will produce 12.5 tons of hydrogen per day using electrolysis.

The Government’s £2bn Hydrogen Production Business Model allocation round last year funded the project. Developers said it will show how to deliver difficult tasks.

Splitwaters supports Akna Energy’s hydrogen project

Akna Energy’s projected 20MW green hydrogen facility in Louisiana will be EPC by Splitwaters.

The plant is expected to be built and operational by late 2025, producing over three million kilogrammes of renewable hydrogen annually.

Splitwaters will supply electrolysers and EPC the plant with Zentech Inc. as its engineering partner.

CEO Paul Hudson said Akna Energy’s first project will be completed on schedule and on budget, marking the start of a US-wide network.
