Changes at both federal and state levels have already permitted heavier electric trucks on some roads, although some are still under trial. The topic of low-emission heavy-duty trucks was also a focal point at the Transition to Electric Vehicle inquiry. Heavy Vehicle Industry Association’s chief advocacy officer, Adele Lausberg, mentioned that while businesses are keen to adopt these technologies, they require financial and regulatory support.
