Lummus Technology has joined forces with Advanced Ionics to propel green hydrogen production.
This partnership involves Lummus Venture Capital’s investment to speed up the commercialization of Advanced Ionics’ hydrogen electrolyzer technology. The goal is to enhance decarbonization in industries like refining and petrochemicals. Lummus will also provide engineering services and supply proprietary equipment to boost green hydrogen capacity.
The partnership focuses on Advanced Ionics’ water vapor electrolyzers, which are designed to tackle capital costs and electricity needs—two major obstacles in green hydrogen expansion. By utilizing waste heat and affordable clean electricity, these electrolyzers use 40 percent less electricity per kilogram of hydrogen compared to other technologies. Their modular design ensures quick deployment, simple operation, and maintenance while using common components to cut capital costs.
