The decision to halt “project hydrogen” has been made by AQS and NSK. This occurs at a time when there is uncertainty over the effects of the resource rent taxation levied against fish producers.

The blueprints for Norway’s largest hydrogen-powered service vessel are complete. The 24 meter long “AQS Hydro” would have taken the place of a vessel that used about 250,000 gallons of diesel per year. The ship’s design is predicated on the start of extensive hydrogen hub building along the Norwegian coast.

The planned adaptations of existing vessels by Flatanger-based AQS have also been halted. For the conversion of four current boats to battery hybrid operation, the blueprints are complete.
