The Taurus, Australia’s first hydrogen fuel cell prime mover, will be unveiled by Pure Hydrogen Corporation at the Brisbane Truck Show on May 18, 2023, and will afterwards undergo commercial trials with PepsiCo Australia in Brisbane.
Under a contract signed in September 2022, Pure Hydrogen and PepsiCo collaborated to develop the “Taurus” vehicle. PepsiCo provided feedback on the project.
In Australia, Pure Hydrogen holds the only rights to the truck design and has indicated that orders for multiple vehicles may be placed after the testing period is over.
The 220-kilowatt 6bx4 prime mover was created in Australia and features a refuelling point, low-voltage power storage system, and opulent cabin amenities. Prime movers capable of moving B-double loads weighing up to 70 tonnes are anticipated in future designs.
