The H24All project, led by a consortium of fifteen partners, has presented an application for European Green Deal funding to develop Europe’s first 100 megawatt (MW) alkaline electrolyzer plant which will be connected to a Repsol industrial site. The consortium aims to pave the way for a new and competitive hydrogen industry based on European know-how through innovation by developing, building, operating, and demonstrating the sustainability of a 100 MW high-pressure alkaline electrolyzer. The technology will be demonstrated in real operation according to end-users’ needs, meeting market requirements for competitive low-carbon hydrogen production. Partners in the consortium represent the whole…
KfW IPEX-Bank is financing the expansion and operation of the gas transport pipeline network of the German operator Nowega GmbH. It will provide debt capital of around EUR 40 million, with a further EUR 40 million contributed by DekaBank. The Münster-based company Nowega GmbH is the transmission system operator of an approximately 1,500-km-long gas network located in the federal states of Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia. The financing provided by KfW IPEX-Bank will enable investments to secure the gas supply during peak load periods and to increase efficiency during network operation. “For the energy transition to be successful in the…
Air Liquide has completed the construction of the PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) electrolyzer. Supplied with renewable energy, this unit is now producing up to 8.2 tonnes per day of low-carbon hydrogen in Bécancour, Québec. With this large-scale investment, the group confirms its long-term commitment to the hydrogen energy markets and its ambition to be a major player in the supply of low-carbon hydrogen. The new 20 MW PEM electrolyser, equipped with Cummins technology, is the largest operating unit of its kind in the world and will help meet the growing demand for low-carbon hydrogen in North America. Bécancour’s proximity to…
Wildfire Energy has secured a $100,000 grant from the Australian Government Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources as part of the Business Research and Innovation Initiative (BRII). The latest round of the BRII is supporting the early-stage development of solutions to tackle five specific government policy and service delivery challenges. Wildfire is receiving the funding for its proposal to the challenge of “turning farm crops into a renewable hydrogen source” as sought by the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC). Wildfire will use the funding to complete a feasibility study into producing renewable hydrogen from sorghum and wheat crop…
CorPower Ocean and OPS Composite Solutions are ready to deliver an ‘industry advancing’ wave energy project after securing close to €500K from EEA Grants. The Portuguese-Swedish wave energy developer and Norwegian engineering firm will join forces for the COMPACT (COMposite Pressure cAsing for CosT) Project, combining wave energy technology with low-cost composite design and fabrication processes from the offshore industry. Financial backing comes from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway under the EEA Grants ‘Blue Growth Programme’ – which is committed to stimulating ‘blue economy’ innovation, creating jobs and driving growth for SMEs. The COMPACT Project aims to boost the performance and…
The cooperation between the Uzbekistan Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, and ACWA Power has led to three major milestones in the development of power projects to enable Uzbekistan’s ambitious energy transformation plan and increase energy capacity by 2500MW. The ground-breaking ceremony of the 1500MW Sirdarya CCGT plant was followed by the signing of two Power Purchase Agreements and Investment Agreements for two wind power plants located in Bukhara and Navoi. ACWA Power will be delivering these three projects utilizing its technical knowledge, expertise, and experience, to contribute directly to meeting Uzbekistan’s growing yearly electricity demand,…
