In a groundbreaking initiative, Beijing has launched its first-ever hydrogen-based project, poised to play a crucial role in the country’s carbon market trade.

With completion targeted for September, the project, located in Beijing’s Daxing district, is projected to slash carbon emissions by a staggering 24,000 tons per year.

The collaboration of 16 hydrogen enterprises, spearheaded by Zhonghe Xinxing Energy Technology Research Institute, has given birth to this cutting-edge project, which aims to revolutionize carbon accounting and trading.

Yu Jianhua, Deputy Director of the Ecology and Environment Bureau of Beijing Municipality, enthusiastically endorsed the project, highlighting the vital role of the transportation sector in carbon emissions and emphasizing the potential of hydrogen fuel cell-powered vehicles to replace traditional diesel-heavy vehicles, offering a novel solution for energy efficiency and carbon reduction.
