Brazil can produce green hydrogen for Europe. The head of the Brazilian Ministry of Economy Paulo Gedes stated this during his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, reports UOL.

“Who will produce green hydrogen for Europe, which cannot depend on Russian natural gas? We can do it,” Gedes said.

According to him, Brazilian authorities are negotiating accordingly with companies from Germany, Denmark and Spain that want to take 15% of Brazil’s energy market through wind and solar production. “All these guys that produce energy from wind and solar, they come to Brazil.”

Guedes also noted that 80 percent of Brazil’s electricity is already produced using clean sources: “Brazil is bound to become a clean energy giant in the future.”
