Hydrogen buses in California have already logged more than 5.5 million miles of service.
There are 76 hydrogen fuel cell buses on the road in California, and another 76 are in the process of being bought, so there will be even more.
SunLine Transit in the Coachella Valley and AC Transit in the East Bay are two of the best in the country at using fuel cell and battery electric technologies to cut down on pollution. There are 21 fuel cell buses on the road now, and five more are in the works. California’s AC Transit has 39 fuel cell buses in its fleet now.
With the Orange County Transportation Authority, there are a hundred and ten hydrogen fuel cell buses already on the road. Golden Empire Transit in Bakersfield also has a few. It’s not just transportation that’s changing. The University of California Irvine’s hydrogen fuel cell electric bus shows that education is also on board.
People in California are getting ready for a cleaner and more efficient transportation system that runs on hydrogen.
