A cutting-edge hydrogen fuel cell and electrolysis test facility, spanning an impressive 240 square meters, was officially inaugurated by Ceres.
The ceremony was attended by notable figures including Mr. Atsushi Horiba, Chairman and Group CEO of HORIBA Ltd, Mark Garrett, Chief Operating Officer at Ceres, and Baroness Martha Lane-Fox, President of the British Chambers of Commerce. The opening of the facility marks a significant milestone in the clean energy technology sector.
The facility, which was first announced in March 2022, is located at HORIBA MIRA’s headquarters and represents a major expansion of Ceres’ testing capacity in the UK. Ceres, a leading developer in clean energy technology, has entered into a long-term agreement with HORIBA MIRA, an international automotive engineering and testing consultancy. The partnership aims to bolster the UK’s ability to deliver cutting-edge fuel cell and hydrogen technologies to global markets.
The newly opened facility not only provides advanced testing capabilities but also encompasses the design, manufacturing, and certification of fuel cell testing systems by the wider HORIBA group. This allows Ceres to deploy locally compliant testing solutions in international markets. By combining the expertise of both companies, the facility positions Ceres as a frontrunner in the global clean energy and hydrogen economy.
Mark Garrett, Chief Operating Officer at Ceres, expressed confidence in the growth plans of the company and highlighted the facility’s role in expanding global operations. By leveraging advanced technology and trusted testing processes, Ceres aims to lead the international hydrogen economy and contribute to the global net-zero efforts.
Graeme Stewart, Chief Technical Officer at HORIBA MIRA, emphasized the significance of the partnership with Ceres and the facility’s role in showcasing HORIBA MIRA’s prowess as a premium provider of Testing-as-a-Service. The collaboration between the two companies will facilitate the delivery of clean technology solutions to global markets.
The opening of the state-of-the-art testing facility in Nuneaton underscores the commitment of both Ceres and HORIBA MIRA to driving innovation in the hydrogen and clean energy sectors. This development will play a vital role in accelerating the transition to a sustainable and decarbonized future.
