In South China’s Guangdong Province, the nation’s first production line for hydrogen-powered industrial vehicles is now fully operational. This will aid in the green growth of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the accomplishment of China’s “dual carbon” goal.
The production line is specialized in the power systems of industrial vehicles and is situated in an industrial park in the Chancheng area of Foshan, Guangdong. It is China’s first established production line for making industrial vehicles powered by hydrogen.
Within six months, the Guangdong-based power technology business Just Power finished building the production line.
Forklifts, tractors, tour cars, and mobile hydrogen batteries were among the new items on display on Saturday.
China is the world’s largest producer of hydrogen, with an annual energy output of over 33 million tons and over 300 hydrogen businesses that each generates at least 20 million yuan ($2.84 million) in main business revenue annually.
The nation recognized hydrogen energy as an important component of its future energy mix and intends to realize its green and low-carbon transformation with a thriving hydrogen energy industry, according to a plan on the sector’s development for the years 2021–2035 announced in March.
China wants to reach carbon neutrality by 2060 and have CO2 emissions peak before 2030.
