A second hydrogen liquefaction facility will be built by Air Products in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
In addition to the company’s current liquid hydrogen facility in Botlek, the Netherlands, this additional source is available. The project will triple Europe’s current total capacity for liquid hydrogen once it is operational in 2025.
The plant’s liquid hydrogen output will be used to meet rising demands from the mobility industry and high-tech businesses. The decarbonization of heavy-duty trucks will help Europe reach climate neutrality by 2050.
Air Products has pledged to support hydrogen’s role in the energy transition. This endeavor marks a significant turning point and significantly expands Air Products’ access to hydrogen throughout Europe.
