Dassault Systèmes revealed that it is utilizing Blue Spirit Aero and the cloud-based 3DEXPERIENCE platform to speed up the construction of hydrogen-powered aircraft.

The “Dragonfly” is being developed by French aviation company Blue Spirit Aero using electric propulsion technology, with certification targeted for 2026.

The ‘Reinvent the Sky’ industrial solution, built on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, was used to complete the 3D design and verify the structural energy performance and air reverse movement.

According to the corporation, the cloud-based virtual environment allowed for effective decision-making and validation, including the structuring of internal procedures.

“The flexibility of Reinvent the Sky solution and the cloud-based 3DEXPERIENCE platform enables us to add and optimize new features to decrease costs, which is a prerequisite for startups driving the new mobility industry,” said David Ziegler, vice president of Aerospace & Defense at Dassault Systèmes.
