Elektroprivreda BiH, Bosnian state-controlled power company, has installed first out of 15 wind turbines at the onshore wind farm ‘Podveležje 1’ near Mostar.

According to the company, the transport of the equipment from the Port of Ploče is underway.

The wind farm is being built by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, Croatia, in a consortium with Wind Power, Denmark.

Elektropriveda’s chief executive officer for equity investment Senad Salkic said that all turbines are expected to be installed by the end of the year.

Podveležje 1 wind farm will be financed by a loan from German development bank KfW and Elektroprivreda BiH’s own funding.

In addition, Elektroprivreda BiH signed 30-year concession contract with the government of HNK.
