Enagás, a key player in the energy sector, has unveiled its latest initiative, the Hydrogen Technological Observatory, aimed at fostering the technical advancement of renewable hydrogen.
The establishment of the Hydrogen Technological Observatory underscores Enagás’ commitment to driving innovation in the renewable hydrogen domain. By facilitating the promotion, exploration, and dissemination of technical advancements, the observatory aims to catalyze the evolution of renewable hydrogen technologies.
Arturo Gonzalo, CEO of Enagás, envisions the Hydrogen Technological Observatory as a collaborative platform, bringing together key stakeholders across the hydrogen value chain. Described as a “meeting point open to the main agents of the hydrogen value chain,” the observatory aims to foster dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collective action towards advancing hydrogen technology.
The inaugural ‘Enagás H2 Technical Day’ serves as a cornerstone event for the Hydrogen Technological Observatory. Attended by experts from diverse fields, including institutional, industrial, operational, and regulatory sectors, the event kick-starts discussions and initiatives aimed at driving technical innovation in renewable hydrogen.
Gonzalo highlights the historical use of pipelines for hydrogen transportation since 1938, emphasizing the proven nature of this technology. However, scaling remains a critical endeavor, requiring concerted efforts in infrastructure development, network design, and digitalization to meet the evolving demands of the hydrogen market.
