Energiequelle will begin construction works on its second project in Finland this week. The Konttisuo wind farm, which is being constructed at the border between South Ostrobothnia and Central Finland 20 kilometers southeast of the municipality of Soini, will contain seven Nordex turbines with a total capacity of 29.96 MW.
Infra Builders Oy was hired by Energiequelle to build the roads, foundations, park cabling and the associated transformer station. Infra Builders Oy will now begin the construction of the road and then the building of the first foundations will proceed.
The N149/4.0-4.5 turbines will be supplied as a cold climate version and fitted with an anti-icing system. The system’s energy-efficient heating prevents the ice from building up on the rotor blades and turbines. For de-icing purposes, there is no need to stop the turbines which has a very positive impact on yield.
The order also includes a premium service contract for a period of 25 years. The park is scheduled to be commissioned in December 2021.
“Throughout the entire development phase, the Konttisuo project has received a lot of encouragement and support from the local community and the municiplaity. We would like to thank them for this and reassure that Energiequelle is a reliable partner for the people in the region. The experience we have gained with the Konttisuo project will be put to good use in the development of other projects in the region, such as our Kimpilamminkangas project.”
