Enapter SRL, a subsidiary of Enapter AG, has been awarded EUR 1,255,373.17 in research funding by the Italian Ministry for Enterprise and Made in Italy (MIMIT) for their project titled “AEM Technology Next Generation.”

The grant received will be utilized for further research and development activities, with special emphasis on advancing Enapter’s AEM multicore technology. This technology plays a crucial role in the AEM Nexus, a powerful modular electrolyzer specifically designed for megawatt-class operations. The AEM multicore technology enables hundreds of stacks to efficiently produce green hydrogen from renewable energy sources, without the use of iridium.

The funding will be used to enhance stack development and the associated patented membrane technology among other things. A total of 34 months is allocated for this project, which aims for standardization, mass-scale production of improved stacks for efficiency and cost advantages in hydrogen production.

Enapter is an emerging energy technology group producing highly efficient hydrogen generators or electrolyzers to replace fossil fuels, thus leading the global energy transition. Their patented anion exchange membrane technology (AEM) allows cost-effective, mass-scale production of electrolyzers for green hydrogen generation, anywhere globally.

The group’s modular systems are already operational in over 375 companies across 50+ countries worldwide, spanning sectors like energy, mobility, industrial, heating, and telecommunication. Enapter maintains its headquarters in Germany with an R&D and production site in Italy.
