A Danish business specialising in climate technology, Stiesdal, will provide the first electrolyzer for European Energy’s hydrogen production facility at Maade, Esbjerg.
An agreement has been reached between European Energy and Stiesdal subsidiary Stiesdal Hydrogen regarding the testing of a brand-new 3 MW electrolyzer.
The electrolyzer from Stiesdal Hydrogen is based on traditional alkaline electrolysis and has a cutting-edge integrated design. The overall system is highly suited for low-cost industrial manufacture since the support systems—water treatment, power supply, and cooling—are fully modularized.
The Maade facility, which will be built by European Energy and have a total capacity of 12MW, is also up for construction. European Energy is also in charge of designing and building the entire balance of plant. When fully operational, the electrolyzer provided by Stiesdal Hydrogen will be able to create about 270 tonnes of hydrogen annually.
The Maade PtX facility’s construction began in late 2022, and it will run through 2023.
