EVoLOH, a cleantech company on a mission to revolutionize green hydrogen production, has leased an existing industrial facility in Lowell and is gearing up to transform it into a Manufacturing Center of Excellence.
Green hydrogen, produced using renewable energy sources, is increasingly viewed as the key to decarbonizing various sectors, including transportation and industry. To make this vision a reality, electrolyzers play a vital role. These devices use electricity to split water into hydrogen and oxygen, and EVoLOH is poised to become a game-changer in this field.
EVoLOH’s new facility in Lowell will serve as the epicenter of their green hydrogen revolution. The plant is set to house a state-of-the-art manufacturing process with a remarkable capacity of up to 3.75 gigawatts (GW) per year of electrolyzers. While limited manufacturing will commence in 2024, full-scale production is scheduled for 2025.
But EVoLOH’s ambitions don’t stop there. The company is actively engaged in negotiations for additional manufacturing plants worldwide. A second plant, planned to break ground in 2026, will dwarf the Lowell facility with a capacity of 15 GW per year of electrolyzer stacks.
As EVoLOH powers up in Lowell, it signifies not only the future of green hydrogen production but also a promising resurgence of American manufacturing with sustainability at its core. Lowell, once the cradle of industrialization, is now embracing the future with open arms.
