South Korea’s first biogas hydrogen fueling station built in Chungju, 147 kilometers south of Seoul, using food waste to manufacture and distribute hydrogen fuel.
The Chungju Bio-Hydrogen Refueling Station utilizes biogas generated from the Chungju Food Bio Energy Center to produce highly concentrated, environmentally friendly hydrogen with a purity of more than 99.99 percent.
The station is equipped to fuel hydrogen cars and also delivers tube trailers to other hydrogen stations.
Around 12.3 billion won ($10 million) was spent on the development of an operating system that integrates the manufacturing, storage, transportation, fueling, and sales processes.
