First 8MW wind turbine has been installed at Borssele 1&2 offshore wind farm in the Netherlands.
This is the first out of 94 Siemens Gamesa wind turbines that will be installed at the site, Ørsted said on its social media.
Sea Challenger vessel loads the turbine components in Port Esbjerg, prior to transporting them to the installation site around 22 kilometers off the coast of the Zeeland Province.
Borssele 1&2 is expected to be completed by the end of 2020 and will have total capacity of 752MW.
When completed the project will become the largest offshore wind farm in the Dutch North Sea.
