The recent tripartite agreement among the Institute for Research in Solar Energy and New Energies (IRESEN), SATT Paris-Saclay, and the French Development Agency (AFD) marks a significant milestone in advancing decarbonized hydrogen technologies.
This partnership, backed by an 800,000 euro donation, aims to foster applied research projects in Morocco, positioning the nation as a pivotal player in the global hydrogen sector.
Initiated with financial support from the AFD and the French Treasury, the agreement sets forth plans to launch a call for innovative projects by late 2024. These projects will receive three years of support, targeting the development of cutting-edge technological solutions to address climate challenges and accelerate Morocco’s energy transition.
The partnership underscores a strategic bilateral effort to bolster Morocco’s energy transition strategy. By focusing on decarbonized hydrogen, both France and Morocco aim to cultivate sustainable economic growth and technological advancement in the region. This initiative aligns with broader international goals of reducing carbon emissions and diversifying energy sources.
