Hyliko has launched France’s first dedicated hydrogen station for heavy goods vehicles in the town of Villabé.

The newly erected station will supply green hydrogen, generated through renewable energy sources, ensuring that the fueling process itself aligns with environmental goals. The station features state-of-the-art technology for both hydrogen production and distribution, providing a glimpse into the future of sustainable transport.

Hydrogen, seen as a key player in the renewable energy landscape, emits zero carbon when used as a fuel. This makes it an excellent candidate for reducing the carbon footprint of the logistics and transportation industries. Hyliko’s move is part of a broader effort to decarbonize heavy transport, a sector traditionally dependent on fossil fuels.

Constructing the hydrogen station involved significant investment in cutting-edge infrastructure. According to Hyliko officials, the station will be capable of refueling several trucks daily, supporting long-haul routes without compromising on efficiency or range.

This launch is not a standalone effort. Hyliko has partnered with multiple stakeholders, including local authorities and technology providers, to set up the station. This collaborative effort ensures that the project benefits from diversified expertise and support, promoting rapid uptake of hydrogen fuel in the logistics sector.
