Axpo and SGV to launch Lake Lucerne hydrogen passenger vessel
The first green hydrogen production plant in central Switzerland is being built by H2Uri AG, a firm that Axpo, a Swiss renewable energy company, has invested in. The first hydrogen passenger ship on Lake Lucerne, run by Lake Lucerne Navigation Company (SGV), will be propelled by hydrogen generated at this plant.
Axpo, SGV, EWA-energieUri, and AVIA Schätzle are partners in this project, which intends to start producing hydrogen in Bürglen in 2025.
SPIE automates pilot system for Dresden University of Technology research project
Expanding its practical experience in the realm of hydrogen, SPIE, an independent pioneer in multi-technical services in the energy and communications sectors in Europe, is getting even more involved. The automated technology for a prototype system was provided by the multi-technical service provider to Dresden University of Technology (TUD) as part of a recycling management research project.
This unit will specifically be utilized to investigate the conversion of tar-containing pyrolysis gas components into hydrogen and other compounds that could find application, for example, in the basic materials business or the mobility sector.
LMI showcases Beeway electric and hydrogen models in Geneva Motor Show
The modest manufacturer LMI, situated close to Le Mans, intends to take part in the Geneva Motor Show, which takes place from February 26 to March 3. The Beeway utility series, which comes in electric and hydrogen models, will be showcased during this event.
The primary target market for the Beeway utility vehicle series is comprised of governmental authorities, private fleets, and independent contractors. It consists of a hydrogen-powered variant as well as three battery-electric cars with respective capacities of 37, 74, and 110 kWh. The Beeway H2 has a range of 475 kilometers and comes with a 50 kW fuel cell and 37 kWh battery. It can store 4.4 kg of hydrogen. The benefit of this model is that the hydrogen can be filled in a matter of minutes, and the battery provides an extra boost to get to the filling station.
Toyota’s technical director Pascal Vasselon to lead hydrogen business
The location of Toyota’s former technical director, Pascal Vasselon, has been made public. Unexpectedly, the 60-year-old quit his job in January at Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe in Cologne. It is already official: he will take over as head of “TGR Strategic Motorsport Development,” a new global racing strategy department.
This implies that his new position goes beyond the initial expectations from January that he would be working on a fresh hydrogen initiative. He will actually be in charge of Toyota’s hydrogen initiatives for the global motorsport industry, representing the company before important decision-makers like the FIA regarding upcoming matters and perhaps even advocating for hydrogen initiatives.
Korea Gas Safety and Korea EBS sign “Hydrogen Safety Promotion Business Agreement”
In an effort to increase public awareness of hydrogen safety, Korea Gas Safety Corporation and Korea Educational Broadcasting Corporation (EBS)have inked a “Hydrogen Safety Promotion Business Agreement.”
Officials from the two firms, including Kim Yu-yeol of EBS and Park Gyeong-guk of Korea Gas Safety Corporation, attended the agreement ceremony.
In order to rejuvenate the Hydrogen Safety Museum, the two organizations will increase their interchange and cooperation in terms of personnel and material resources.
Korea Transportation Safety Authority demonstrates hydrogen bus evaluation and inspection tech
Korea Transportation Safety Authority demonstrated hydrogen bus evaluation and inspection technologies at the Korea Automobile Safety Research Institute to improve hydrogen bus safety, per the 23rd.
According to the government’s ‘Hydrogen Safety Management Roadmap 2.0’, the Corporation is developing ‘Hydrogen Bus Safety Evaluation Technology and Technology’ to develop non-destructive inspection technology to inspect hydrogen bus drive system performance evaluation equipment and pressure vessel defects. Promotion of the ‘equipment development’ project.
The ‘Hydrogen Bus Drive System Integrated Performance Evaluation Equipment’ produced in this study measures hydrogen electric vehicle power performance (torque, rotational speed, output) and system output. The motor dynamometer will now be used for vehicle-level output tests and evaluations, not only component-level ones.
