After purchasing 5% of FusionOne, PowerTap Hydrogen has given an update on the company’s investment.

An American company called FusionOne has developed proprietary, patent-pending technologies for the thermal processing of plastics and other carbon matter into clean “white” hydrogen and electricity, which is then used to produce clean hydrogen and electricity.

It has been reported that FusionOne is on track to have the first HydroPlas Reactor operational in the first half of 2022, as planned and as announced in PowerTap’s April 2021 announcement, with plastic polymer feedstocks and several other carbon-based waste feedstocks, as feedstocks for the HydroPlas Reactor.

Final components for full system commissioning will arrive in late February 2022, after which the first reactor will be installed in feedstock-rich Detroit, Michigan. It is with great pleasure that FusionOne can report that it has established solid working relationships with key component suppliers in North America that will allow the company to continue expanding in the years to come. Early in the year of 2022, additional locations are expected to be announced.

“As we have been finalizing fabrication of the HydroPlas Reactor, we have actively engaged with hydrogen industry leaders, particularly in the US and European hydrogen mobility sectors, to develop key relationships and identify additional sites for deployment of our reactor in strategically significant locations in support of efforts by global governments which are focused on combatting climate change,” commented FusionOne CEO, Elliott Talbott. “We at FusionOne see ourselves as a key component of these strategies and developing the infrastructure and hydrogen supply chain required to support these governments.”

PowerTap CEO Raghu Kilambi added, “While PowerTap is focused on deployment of blue hydrogen production at the moment, we recognize that other forms of hydrogen production may be appropriate in different geographies, based on local context and environment.”
