Future Proof Shipping (FPS) has joined the Flagships project and is looking to deploy its zero-emissions inland container vessels in European waters soon.
As part of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, which was formerly known as the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking, Flagships is planning on launching two commercially operated hydrogen fuel cell vessels in 2023.
To put it another way, Flagships has now added FPS’ Waal hydrogen-fuelled vessel to the project, which should be sailing on green hydrogen next summer (2023).
FPS has announced that Ballard Europe, ship design company LMG Marin, and project coordinators VVT will now be involved in the effort to meet the stated deadline.
