GAUSSIN, a pioneer in clean and smart freight transport, has announced a partnership agreement with PLASTIC OMNIUM, a global leader in connected and sustainable mobility solutions.
The partnership aims to accelerate the development of GAUSSIN’s hydrogen range by integrating PLASTIC OMNIUM’s complete H2 systems into APM vehicles, leading to enhanced vehicle performance and faster market launch. For PLASTIC OMNIUM, this collaboration expands the reach of their technology and allows them to contribute to zero-emission mobility initiatives.
The strategic partnership between GAUSSIN and PLASTIC OMNIUM focuses on port applications. The agreement outlines cooperation between the two companies to integrate PLASTIC OMNIUM’s complete hydrogen systems into GAUSSIN’s APM vehicles. Innovation lies at the core of this partnership, offering promising prospects for carbon-free mobility solutions in ports.
PLASTIC OMNIUM, driven by its belief in the crucial role of hydrogen in future clean mobility, has invested over €300 million since 2015 to strengthen its expertise and industrial presence across the hydrogen value chain. As a leading player in hydrogen technology, PLASTIC OMNIUM plans to invest an average of €100 million annually, aiming to achieve €3 billion in revenue by 2030.
With its commitment to zero-emission mobility, PLASTIC OMNIUM becomes an ideal partner for GAUSSIN in the port sector, particularly for APM vehicles. This partnership follows a similar strategic agreement in hydrogen with Plug Power in the logistics sector involving the ATM vehicle.
Hydrogen, as an energy source, is well-suited for off-road applications, including closed sites like ports. Ports provide an ideal environment for hydrogen ecosystems due to their large vehicle fleets, which can support the installation of hydrogen production and distribution infrastructure. GAUSSIN’s AMP H2 port tractor offers an immediate solution for clean mobility in the port sector.
Christophe Gaussin, CEO of GAUSSIN, views the partnership with PLASTIC OMNIUM as a significant milestone in the development of GAUSSIN’s hydrogen vehicle range. Recognized for its hydrogen offering for port actors at the Monaco Hydrogen Forum in 2022, GAUSSIN aims to leverage the cutting-edge technology of PLASTIC OMNIUM, a key partner in the automotive industry. The collaboration is expected to accelerate the market launch of GAUSSIN’s APM hydrogen range and maintain the company’s technological leadership in this critical sector for future clean mobility.
