AEM (Anion Exchange Membrane) electrolyzers created and patented by Gen-Hy will be manufactured by Gen-Hy Cube, whose plant will be located in Montbéliard, according to a joint announcement by Gen-Hy and Eiffage Énergie Systèmes.

In this situation, Gen-Hy will provide its technological know-how in the management of AEM membrane production as well as the generation of catalytic deposits on electrodes and membranes.

By contributing its expertise in mechatronics, risk management, lean manufacturing, product-process integration, and stack assembly, Eiffage Énergie Systèmes will bring its industrialization capabilities to the table.

The new facility will have an annual manufacturing capacity of 100 MW of AEM electrolyzers with potential growth of up to 300 MW. The first deliveries are anticipated to begin in 2024.

The electrolyzer technology developed by Gen-Hy is predicted to have a high hydrogen purity of 85%.

This method makes advantage of affordable, plentiful resources (no rare metals). This innovation would enable 1 MW installed to generate up to 160 tons of green hydrogen annually.
