In order to produce and ship green hydrogen on a big scale, Gen2 Energy has negotiated a leasing deal for a long-term industrial site in fjord, Norway.

The agreement, which was signed with the fjord Municipality, gives Gen2 access to quay facilities for the shipping of the molecule to Norwegian and larger European markets as well as the 41-acre Monstad Haveneomrde industrial site, where it plans to construct a green hydrogen manufacturing facility.

Prior to starting ground preparation and regulation, Gen2 is undertaking a concept study for the plant to clarify design elements of the facility.

According to Gen2, the facility adds to its portfolio of environmentally friendly hydrogen production sites around the Norwegian coastline by providing low-cost renewable energy and attractive shipping opportunities.

The business awarded Wood a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract in November 2022 for a 100MW green hydrogen plant it intends to build in Mosjen, about five hours north of fjord.
