GenH2 comes to Florida

GenH2 announced the purchase of a 10-acre facility in Titusville, Florida.

As the hydrogen economy continues to grow tremendously, the property will undergo a $35 million makeover and build-out to satisfy GenH2’s needs. In addition to offices and conference spaces for staff, the new headquarters will have an advanced research lab, light manufacturing center, educational and training classes for community participation, an observation deck, and outdoor walking pathways.

Following a collaborative effort between Rocket City Commercial and the North Brevard Economic Development Zone, GenH2 founder and CEO Cody Bateman said he and his team chose the City of Titusville for their new headquarters. Bateman, who formerly worked for NASA, emphasized the significance of the company’s worldwide headquarters being just a few miles from Kennedy Space Center.

Our roots and history can be traced back to this location, where many of our personnel worked as NASA contractors or employees,” Bateman explained. “This is a perfect location for us because we are confident in our ability to hire the workforce we require and we are grateful for the support of the City of Titusville, Brevard County, and the State of Florida.”

The Titusville global headquarters will be joined by GenH2 operations in Texas, New Mexico, and other parts of the country where the company is expanding. In the next two years, the company plans to add 400 more staff.

“The hydrogen economy is gaining traction quicker than anyone expected, and it is approaching a ‘tipping point,’” Bateman continued. “Aggressive milestones are driving expansion across the landscape, both nationally and globally. We plan to be fully operational and manufacturing liquid hydrogen and filling stations by 2023 in order to meet market demand.”

The project’s first phase is scheduled to be finished in early 2022.
