In a significant development towards addressing climate change and reducing emissions, Germany’s climate envoy, Jennifer Morgan, has emphasized the strong collaboration between Riyadh and Berlin in producing and exporting green hydrogen. Morgan discussed her conversations with Saudi authorities regarding climate change and the joint efforts between Germany and Saudi Arabia. The discussions focused on various climate-related issues and strategies to enhance cooperation in environmental domains, including carbon capture, utilization, recycling, and storage as part of a circular carbon economy.
Morgan specifically highlighted the significance of hosting the 2023 United Nations Climate Conference (COP 28) in the region, emphasizing the potential for collaboration and the positive impact on fulfilling the goals of the Paris Agreement.

As a former leader of Greenpeace International, Morgan affirmed that the collaboration with Riyadh would contribute to international efforts in environmental and climate change domains.
