The governments of Germany and the Netherlands have decided to work together more closely in the future to link their respective hydrogen pipeline networks.
In order to develop cross-border hydrogen corridors, including the Delta Rhine Corridor, the countries intend to cooperatively support all related initiatives. They will also determine the required actions to assure that ambitious implementation. By 2027, the first two linkages might be completed.
The countries met jointly to discuss hydrogen infrastructure alone; a follow-up meeting is scheduled for the end of 2023.
The next stages for the Netherlands’ participation in the H2Global effort were also agreed upon by Germany and the Netherlands, and they will create a shared vision for hydrogen import policies as well as a roadmap along the value chain.
They also emphasized how important it is for both countries’ infrastructure to be effectively connected in order to decarbonize industry and the transportation sector.
