In a significant move towards carbon reduction and energy transition, GNLink, the natural gas distributor of the Lorinvest Group, has entered into a technological cooperation and business development agreement with Portuguese company PRF GasSolutions.
The partnership aims to introduce green hydrogen (H2V) production units with a capacity of up to 5 MW in Brazil, leveraging Europe’s expertise in this field. Green hydrogen is recognized as a crucial fuel for achieving carbon reduction goals. The companies will explore applications such as injecting hydrogen into natural gas pipelines, fueling fuel cell vehicles, and utilizing it in various industrial processes.
Brazil’s President Lula emphasizes the country’s potential as a global exporter of green hydrogen, highlighting the significance of renewable sources like wind, solar, and biomass. The European Union has pledged a substantial investment of €2 billion in Brazil’s green hydrogen production, emphasizing the country’s impressive renewable energy generation of 87%.
