The firm conducted a comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the GHDP, meticulously evaluating aspects such as groundwater, surface water, archaeology, air quality, flora, fauna, and noise. Dr. Coetser explains that the EIA considered not only the immediate construction phase but also the operational life of the demonstration plant. This holistic approach aligns with global best practices in mitigating environmental impact.

The EIA culminated in an Environmental Management Plan (EMP), designed to manage and mitigate potential impacts. Dr. Coetser emphasizes that this plan focuses on preventing and minimizing adverse effects, while concurrently enhancing project benefits.
