The National Ports Agency has initiated a technical feasibility study to enhance the port of Tan-Tan.

The study will evaluate what is needed for investment projects focused on producing green hydrogen and its derivative products. This endeavor will focus initially on the Guelmim-Oued Noun Region. Additionally, the study will explore potential expansion configurations for the current port site.

A French company plans to invest $5 billion in Morocco’s green hydrogen project, which highlights the international interest in the area. The Morocco Offer Steering Committee is in the process of shortlisting projects for the southern provinces, concentrating on green hydrogen initiatives. A significant focus on foreign direct investment is expected in Morocco’s 2025 finance bill, with green hydrogen and the automotive sectors as key areas for growth.

To ensure the development of the green hydrogen sector, Morocco announced the launch of specialized training programs. These programs aim to build local expertise and support the sector’s growth. The Morocco Offer has attracted significant attention, receiving nearly 40 project applications related to green hydrogen.
