GRS has successfully energized the Molong solar farm, operated by Amp Energy, in the Molong area of New South Wales.

It’s up and running after delivering its first output, taking a preliminary step towards its commissioning and beginning grid link tests. The photovoltaic project, which covers 80 hectares of land on which 89,088 photovoltaic modules and 1,024 solar trackers have been installed, has an installed capacity of 39 MWp, which will generate approximately 78,000 MWh of renewable energy per year.

In addition, once the facility generates 100 percent, it can provide electricity to some 11,000 Australian households, while preventing an annual emission of approximately 53,585 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.

The work of all those involved during these months has been fantastic. We are very active in the Australian photovoltaic market, with new contracts and future business opportunities, so successfully achieving the registration of the Molong Solar Farm, in the stipulated time, indicates that we are on the right track.”

Carlos López, general director in Australia.

The Molong solar farm is the fourth project that GRS have energized in Australia.
