H2 MOBILITY Germany will soon accomplish its initial expansion goal of 100 hydrogen fueling stations.
According to a corporate news release, the nationwide network of hydrogen stations for fuel-cell passenger automobiles currently consists of 91 stations.
The 100 H2 stations will be located in seven German metropolitan centers (Hamburg, Berlin, Rhine-Ruhr, Frankfurt, Nuremberg, Stuttgart, and Munich), as well as along connecting highways and motorways.
At all existing H2 MOBILITY filling stations, passenger cars and light commercial vehicles can be refueled with hydrogen. Additionally, nine locations offer bus fueling. H2 MOBILITY is responsible for all duties associated with expanding and operating the network, including planning, building, operation, and marketing.
From 2021 on, further stations will be developed in areas with anticipated short-term demand for commercial cars and where a public filling station makes sense within a developing network of hydrogen filling stations, according to H2 MOBILITY.
H2 MOBILITY Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG is charged with the responsibility of developing a statewide hydrogen infrastructure in Germany. H2 MOBILITY’s shareholders are Air Liquide, Daimler, Linde, OMV, Shell, and TOTAL, with BMW, Honda, Hyundai, Toyota, and Volkswagen serving as affiliated partners in an advising position.
