DNV has granted H2Carrier’s P2XFloater an Approval in Principle (AiP), confirming the design’s technical viability.

H2Carrier’s P2XFloater is the world’s first industrial-scale floating green hydrogen and ammonia facility, and it is powered by the company’s proprietary floating energy production and storage system. Using a fully integrated PEM and Haber-Bosch system, the concept uses established floating production, storage, and off-take technologies to balance renewable electricity feedstock. A fleet of P2XFloaters will be constructed, owned, and operated by H2Carrier.

The P2XFloater concept was created by H2Carrier in collaboration with Norway’s top maritime and process engineering firms, drawing on the company’s founders’ decades of experience in the oil and gas business, the maritime industry, and the offshore wind installation industry.
