The Pune-based h2e Power Systems, which is part of the Poonawalla Group, announced that it is working on India’s first fully integrated hydrogen fuel cell three-wheeler, which will use a PEM (proton-exchange membrane) fuel cell and innovative hydrogen cylinders.
These three-wheelers are being developed in partnership with Hydrogen in Motion in Canada, as part of an Indo-Canadian program funded by Gita, a public-private partnership between the Technology Development Board, the Department of Science and Technology, and CII.
According to the company, this innovative solution will result in a zero-emission public transportation vehicle that is cost competitive with other technologies.
h2e has products in both the stationary and mobility segments for power generation and green hydrogen production. The hydrogen fuel cell three-wheeler is an intriguing application for green hydrogen and fuel cells.
